among the brightest thinkers of our time.
But how do we measure the impact of their work?
For scholars freed from their usual routines and responsibilities, and
energized by new colleagues with fresh perspectives, a year at the
Center offers the perfect environment in which to take the kinds of
intellectual risks that lead to truly ground-breaking work. Our
programs produce some of the most consequential research in the
humanities and social sciences, research that is enormously influential
